Superior Excavating was founded in 1966 by Frank E. Baiardi with a simple commitment: deliver quality underground services with integrity and craftsmanship. Nearly 60 years later, we remain family-owned and operated, carrying forward that same dedication to excellence across Southeastern Michigan.

What started as a single-crew operation has grown into one of the region's most trusted excavation and site development contractors. Today, under the leadership of Owner Nick Vanbiesbrouck, we serve residential, commercial, and municipal clients throughout Michigan—from small-scale residential projects to major infrastructure installations for MDOT and local municipalities.
